Three Main Causes of Personal Injury

Accidents can happen almost anywhere you go. If you are at work, traveling, walking, or using any sort of product, you could be injured. Here are the top three most common personal injury claims, and how they happen:

Slips and Falls
Slips and falls account for over 1 million hospital emergency room visits a year, or 12% of total falls. They can occur anywhere from the home, grocery stores, the workplace or the outdoors.

Car Accidents
2,217,000 people were injured in motor vehicle traffic crashes in 2009. These can occur whether you are a safe driver or not. The common injuries can include neck, spinal, and internal injuries.

Product-Related Injuries
38.5 million people in the U.S. sought medical attention for injuries associated with consumer products in 2010. Product-related injuries can include medication injuries (Misuse can lead to hospitalization), injuries from equipment (A lawnmower could backfire and cause burns), and insufficient labeling (If a product does not have a warning label and you misuse it, you could be injured).
