Travieso McLeod is proud to announce that physician-attorney Fadi Chakour, M.D., J.D., FCLM has joined the firm as Of Counsel, further strengthening the firm’s medical malpractice and catastrophic injury practice throughout Florida.
Dr. Chakour brings a rare and highly valuable perspective to the firm’s litigation team, having practiced both medicine and law throughout his career. His firsthand medical experience, combined with extensive legal experience representing victims of medical malpractice, provides an exceptional level of insight into complex healthcare negligence cases.

Dr. Chakour has represented victims of medical malpractice throughout Florida and beyond and has been involved in numerous complex and high-stakes matters, including wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases involving the brain and spinal cord. Throughout his legal career, he has practiced as a civil trial lawyer at some of Florida’s largest defense and plaintiffs’ firms, giving him a broad and sophisticated understanding of complex litigation from multiple perspectives.
His addition reinforces Travieso McLeod’s commitment to trial-ready litigation and meticulous case preparation. The firm’s medical malpractice team now includes a physician-attorney, a full-time critical care nurse paralegal, and attorneys with extensive experience handling catastrophic injury and wrongful death matters.

Dr. Chakour earned both his medical degree and Juris Doctor and is a Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine (FCLM), a distinction recognizing advanced expertise at the intersection of medicine and law. He is also certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator and conducts mediations throughout Florida and beyond.
Outside of the practice of law, Dr. Chakour enjoys tennis, swimming, and volunteering at his church. He is fluent in English, Arabic, and Armenian, and also speaks conversational Russian and Turkish. He and his wife are the proud parents of two children.
